The December issue of Forbes magazine features a two page spread look “at the ten figure moguls who live there – and several current listings, should you hanker to join them.”

Forbes reported, “Just 90 miles north of Los Angeles in southern Santa Barbara County, Montecito has long been home (or second home) to wealthy buyers lured by its beauty, comfy microclimate, and proximity to the city.  Santa Barbara is one of the United States’ wealthiest counties, and its priciest homes can be found in the 9,000-resident enclave. In the early 1900s the rich flocked here to build houses; by 1920 Montecito had more millionaires per acre than anywhere in the United States, and many of these grand estates have been passed down through the generations.”

Featured on these two pages are the properties of Ty Warner ($142.8 million/2016 assessed value), Eric Schmidt ($22 million / 2016 assessed value), Charlie Munger ($14 million / 2016 assessed value)  Ed Snider / (list price: $52 million), Ranch San Carlo /(list price: $125 million) , 120 Montecito Ranch Lane (list price: $65 million), and Oprah Winfrey’s ($28.9 million – 2016 sale price “Seamair Farm”  – which adjoins her personal residence.)
